T Visas

On December 19, 2003, the President signed the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2003 (TVPRA).  Section 4(b) of the TVPRA contains 5 provisions amending the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).  These amendments to the INA affect benefits for victims of a severe form of trafficking in persions who are applicants for T nonimmigrant status and their derivative family members.  The TVPRA is effective immiedately for T nonimmigrant status applications pending on or filed after December 19, 2003.
